Who we are
HR Specialist (HRS)
is a publication of the Business Management Daily (BMD), a division of Capitol Information Group, Inc.  BMD is committed to respecting your privacy and safeguarding the information you provide us.  We appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly.


How we use cookies – and why
Cookies are often misunderstood.  Cookies are simply alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer, through your Web browser, to enable our systems to recognize your browser on repeat visits and to provide features such as personalized greetings, faster checkout, and use of the Shopping Cart.  We do NOT collect or use the information from cookies to develop a profile about any of our users.  If you don’t want cookies set on your computer, the Help portion of your browser’s toolbar will tell you how to disable them.  However, cookies allow you to take full advantage of our Web site, and we recommend that you leave them turned on.

News Bulletins
From time to time, we may send you news bulletins on topics relevant to your subscription.  These come mainly through the free weekly e-letter(s), but we may also send helpful emails just to paid subscribers.  Any such message will ALWAYS provide you with a link or other easy means of unsubscribing to further e-mails. Alternatively, you can send an e-mail to Customer@TheHRSpecialist.com at any time with the words “Remove from all news bulletin emails” in the subject line of the message.

Product alerts
From time to time, we may send you product alerts on products or services from HR Specialist or other BMD brands. Any such message will ALWAYS provide you with a link or other easy means of unsubscribing to further e-mails. Alternatively, you can send an e-mail to Customer@TheHRSpecialist.com at any time with the words “Remove from all product alert emails” in the subject line of the message.

Third party Communication
Occasionally we partner with other companies when we feel you may benefit from being informed about their products and services.  Sometimes we also permit carefully selected organizations to advertise in our e-mail publications or perform other specific marketing activity.  Know that we NEVER provide, sell or rent your email address to any third party. 

We store only as much subscriber and password information as is necessary to continue operating effectively and efficiently.  Rest assured that all information is stored securely and in secure areas not accessible by the public.
No matter how hard we strive to protect your information, it is important for you to also protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

We will immediately unsubscribe anyone who requests that their name be removed from our e-mail lists. This will result in no more emails of any type from us (with the exception of confirmation emails for orders or cancellations as necessary).  To be removed, follow the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of any e-mail from us, or send an e-mail to Customer@TheHRSpecialist.com with the words “Remove from all email lists” in the subject line.

Once we receive your information, we may send you communications that contain subscription-related information, valuable offers, promotions and other content. You always have the ability to opt-in or opt-out of receiving future communications from HR Specialist.

Applicable Law

Any dispute relating in any way to your visit to TheHRSpecialist.com or to products you purchase shall be submitted to confidential arbitration in Falls Church, Virginia, except that, to the extent you have in any manner violated or threatened to violate HRS’s intellectual property rights, HRS may seek injunctive or other appropriate relief in any state or federal court in the state of Virginia, and you consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in such courts. Arbitration under this agreement shall be conducted under the rules then prevailing of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrator’s award shall be binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no arbitration under this Agreement shall be joined to an arbitration involving any other party subject to this Agreement, whether through class arbitration proceedings or otherwise.
